So why aren't you making money off of what you say?
Discussion
Itβs not an issue yet as thereβs not much to monetize in this manner but thatβs kinda the point - to promote your stuff with zapvertising, in essence making everyone the product again?
Iβm just exploring the thought. I havenβt taken a hard stance on either side yet.
It's making the advertiser money if they get sales, and those get zapvertised to money for seeing it. What's a more favorable approach? Silence? Middlemen? Beuler?
I do think nostr is at a size and niche where it barely matters, I think with growth it could get irksome. I think then sensible parameters would have to be put into place. Like choose to see, or only show from a minimum payment amount or somesuch thing Β―β \β _β (β γβ )β _β /β Β―
Iβm traditional social media you are the product because advertiser monetizes your attention but also due to network effects. You are literally needed to be there for the product to thrive.
You the user think itβs free. But youβre paying with your data, and in some cases your wallet.
With zapvertizing, once again you may not be earning anything on a zap to someone else (with their ad) but your attention is now monetized. Be it via brand awareness exposure or via direct action. You donβt have to get paid to now be the product.
