the emotional stuff tends to be an area a lot of men struggle with. it's kinda drilled into us that protection means physical safety and roof over head, but it should be all encompassing—the heart is essential.

in the modern era i think it's the most important.

I couldn't agree more. Physical safety in a relationship, without emotional safety, is like living in a cage without bars. They go hand in hand, as it's hard to feel physically safe in an environment that's bruising you in the inside. End up living in a constant survival mode - I grew up seeing that.
