The majority of the bitcoin network goes down. Chain splits occur as the remaining, isolated mining nodes process blocks in parallel. As network infrastructure comes back online and those chains are compared, the chain with the most work is adopted by all nodes and any transactions performed on the shorter chains are rolled back.

More pressing is how you deal with the electromagnetic apocalypse while Bitcoin chugs along without a care in the world.
