BitAxe overheats within 2 min after your boi installed an ICE-tower .. just wanted it to look more fancy :(

Any idea what I messed up?

Soldered the cables cuz I don't trust my crimping skills.

Enough thermal paste?

I used these pink squishy thermal pads that were delivered with the ICE towers. Was that dumb?

Thermal paste is more efficient than pads. Maybe you should get a good one. But try to keep it thin.

Yes, will do, thanks. Had a few people advise against these pads.

I wonder if the 10 mm thick fan is simply not powerful enough compared to the 20 mm stock one. I've seen setups with 2 fans .. but is this really necessary or did I mess up sth else?

Probably thermal paste wasn't applied well. It needs to be even. Not too much, not too little. Id remove yhe cooler and try again. Also make sure it's tightened properly. Don't torque it down to the max but it shld be on solid enough not to wiggle.

I actually used these thermal pads provided in the box. Will switch to paste. Thanks.

The thermal pads usually have a clear film over them, did u remove it from both sides?

Yess, removed them 🫡

I assume you cooler is not on a tight fit. Don’t use any of these plastic fit thingis. Spring loaded screwes and a good thermal paste

Can I use the ice cooler tower without this socket and instead with spring loaded screws? Didn't know that. Do you have a link (or the screw specifications) so I can buy them? I'm from Germany, I think u r too, right?
