Just saw the northern lights again and it was pretty solid, but then out of nowhere cranked up the intensity 10-fold and was sheer vibrant, full-sky, dancing auroras.
Non-exaggerating one of the most profound and beautiful experiences of my life.

Northern lights can be extremely intense, or super faint.
I used to look at clouds that had a little off color and wait to see if they shifted in thickness or started moving in weird patterns in order to confirm is they were clouds or actual northern lights.
I'm glad you got to experience it! They are something almost magical.
