Bluesky added 2 million new users in a week following Brazil's Twitter ban. That's wild.

Bluesky is seen as a Twitter alternative in the media. We often say that Nostr is more than a Twitter alternative, which it is, though right now that is the most popular use case. The media doesn't see it.

Even though Nostr was created for events just like those unfolding in Brazil, Nostr is still the underdog. Keep building.

I haven't thought or dug into bluesky for a while but as I recall its open and decentralised. seems like an overall positive to me.

OK its not nostr. But could nostr handle 2 million new users in a week or so. Prob not.

Importntly too, I think its given the nostr community the drive to push harder. Cos we know nostr is better.

If that was to happen, I have the feeling most of us would accept the challenge to quickly get together and scale the relay infrastructure overnight.
