I think Ive finally decided on privacy friendly #ereader I approve of. Was thinking of Kobo but i dont want to be tied to one format and one format and their store. Boox is cool but runs android and google bloat. Pocketbook runs linux and has good sideloading options including Libby integration. This is the way but you only way to get it to US is through Amazon 🤮 ? Anyone have any tips? #asknostr

I think you can tweak an ini file pr something on Kobo to use without an account then use third-party software (Calibre?) to load and manage your own EPUBs.

I’ve not tried however I plan to at some point.

Yes calibre seems to be the way to go. Can you load pdf to the kobo?

I think so yeah. DYOR though if that’s what you need from the device as I don’t actual have one (yet)

I have been looking at kobo and boox devices not sure. Which to choose
