I think you can tweak an ini file pr something on Kobo to use without an account then use third-party software (Calibre?) to load and manage your own EPUBs.
I’ve not tried however I plan to at some point.

Settings, media, enable background audio. To get past the log in issue, keep changing VPN location and refreshing. Both work for me anyway on iOS, Brave and Mullvad
No ads, can block all distracting elements within the media settings, plays in background. It’s superior to the YouTube app 🤙🏼 I think so anyway

To be clear, I’m not paid or hired and they haven’t asked me to do this. This is simply genuine support from someone who has used their products for the last 2 years and still love using them. LFG 🚀

NewPipe’s download feature is good then play downloaded audio via VLC although I’m not sure having a YouTube front end is helpful if your trying to avoid being on your phone all day so proceed with caution 😅

I had some doubts about updating to the new #amethyst and i noticed myself already postponing it because i was a little scared about having to reconfigure relays and things.
Totally ungrounded. It's fast, it's snappy and it finally uses the outbox model so i connect to some 500-600 relays now sometimes.

Fedora workstation with Gnome is a dream in my experience. Keep it minimal in terms of what you install. Two or three browsers for different tasks, password manager, VPN and sparrow 👌
