Linux enjoyoors, my hat's off to you. What a nightmare of an os... 😅

Yeah. Control is for the weak willed.
All a matter of perspective. Over the past year I moved from 20+ years on Macs and iPhone to Linux on a Framework and GrapheneOS on a Pixel. It's a process, but to me, it's well worth it.
I've used and supported them all, desktop & mobile. Every OS sucks, you just get to decide the suck you're comfortable with 😂
yeah, i've ditched the iPhone. GrapheneOS. i don't have an Apple ID. everything is pretty much open source. Flashed an old iMac with Pop_OS. Didn't work. Ubuntu for now. Just takes time.
Hopefully I get there.
With my hair in tact.
I've had really good luck with https://mxlinux.org/ on older Apple hardware. I have a 2014 MB Air that is still running like a champ with it.
Install mbpfan (it's in the repos) and you're good to go!
Godspeed, sir. Check out 2-3 year old ThinkPad Carbon X1s. Great bang for the buck, and most run Linux nicely.
Graphene is good
Really? Its been mostly pretty smooth for me. With AI, even just using duckduckgo's free one, it's very easy to find solutions to my dumb problems. Most of the time it gives me the command I need to paste in the terminal and my problem is usually fixed. It's actually been fun!
i'm coming from retardOS (macOS), lol >_<
comfy in the terminal, but just working around stuff... =_=;
maybe... once i get things fixed, it'll work like a dream
Right! It's a train wreck
Have been using good more than 2 decades, face problems using windows and there isn’t a thing I can’t do on Linux.
Windows is the nightmare
I started in 2008,I am no programmer, I can do nothing with software. Never used MacOS, only Windows. Usability wise it felt logical and I could get into it quickly. Of course some learned processes had to be broken with new workflows, but I did not mind that.
Since in Linux you're the master and nobody is holding your hand, you can (and will) fuck up quite few things and from that stemmed majority of my problems. It feels its quite too easy to uninstall your GUI.
Fedora workstation with Gnome is a dream in my experience. Keep it minimal in terms of what you install. Two or three browsers for different tasks, password manager, VPN and sparrow 👌
