I'm kind of glad because the endless outrage over some outdated and foreign hand gesture is bordering on ridiculous. Even if he meant it (dude has been to Israel and Auschwitz multiple times as I recall), it has absolutely zero power and this is a good thing.
What does the fact that he's been to Israel and Auschwitz have to do with anything? That sounds awfully like a racist claiming he's not racist because he's got a black friend.
I appreciate your comment. The Prime Minister of Israel went to great pains to say that Musk was a friend of Israel in a recent tweet. So whatever the standard or judge is, I don't know what else is. That said, I am personally HUGELY opposed to Israeli actions in the middle east and their lopsided influence on internal US decion making. I just think that this "nazi" paradigm is hugely overezzagerated. That said may be wrong and I appreciate your comment.

I think he knew exactly what he was doing. He's an apartheid supporting, Afrikaner nationalist, a movement aligned with Nazi ideology. He's definitely aware of the Nazi salute. And doing it at such a prominent event, I believe, provides a glimpse at what he thinks the next four years are going to be about.
His family wealth benefitted massively from the Apartheid regime and constitutional racism, so why wouldn’t it work now?

We have all been there, when you are so excited that the arms raise on their own, and mouth shouts "MEIN FUHRER" all on it's own. It can happen to anybody.
Elon is clearly an attention whore. I think he meant to do exactly what he did... fully aware that his haters wouldn't be able to resist showering him with accusations that he could simply dismiss as fake news.
