Mostly agree but one of my guy friends dated a sociopath who went around telling people that he was physically abusive after they broke up. I was their roommate for a bit and everything she said never happened. She also spread rumors about me and other business partners that were completely fabricated. These rumors had real life consequences for everyone. Some people lost customers at their businesses. We had no choice to warn people about her before she could defame more peoples character.
If they’re spreading dangerous rumors unfortunately you have to tell your side or it can have consequences 😩
