Has venting your impassioned criticisms of a political candidate on social media ever persuaded anyone to do anything other than ignore you? Why do people continue to do it? ๐

People just love to go full Karen
Ser please leave my admiration of Ron Paul out of this equation.
Better than self censoring

"Small minds talk about people"...
This is true about venting in general on social media. It most often appears to me as a lack of self control.
why are you asking about it?๐คฃ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐
Because otherwise well-adjusted rational people become absolutely insufferable on social media at election time. Iโm asking the question to point out the ridiculousness and futility of doing it. I hate seeing it creeping into my timeline here but itโs inevitable. My mute button will see a lot of action over the next few months probably ๐
Politics just flips some kind of aggro-switch inside of people

I hate (lovingly) half of my friends during election season if I pay attention to their social media.
mine too
life's too short to listen to it. ๐คฃ
Right? And itโs not like I donโt have my own strong opinions on issues and candidates, but nobody wants to listen to me give them an uninvited lecture on it. Lol. Half the time they sound insulting and condescending in their tone anyway, and if you try to raise a counterpoint then people get defensive, and they probably didnโt want a debate anyway. They just want you to agree with them. Itโs pointless.
