Because otherwise well-adjusted rational people become absolutely insufferable on social media at election time. I’m asking the question to point out the ridiculousness and futility of doing it. I hate seeing it creeping into my timeline here but it’s inevitable. My mute button will see a lot of action over the next few months probably 😂

Politics just flips some kind of aggro-switch inside of people

Best to avoid #PV 🤙

I hate (lovingly) half of my friends during election season if I pay attention to their social media.

You use social media?

Hahaha 🤣 not much any more but I have a few family/friends who post a lot to FB/IG so it’s how I keep up with them

Oh right, friends 😅

I’ve been off all meta stuff and Xitter™️ for quite a while now, praise be 🙌

mine too

life's too short to listen to it. 🤣

Right? And it’s not like I don’t have my own strong opinions on issues and candidates, but nobody wants to listen to me give them an uninvited lecture on it. Lol. Half the time they sound insulting and condescending in their tone anyway, and if you try to raise a counterpoint then people get defensive, and they probably didn’t want a debate anyway. They just want you to agree with them. It’s pointless.
