Hi Jack! My husband and I are taking your #grownostr challenge. On the topic of growing your own food, we live in an area of north Idaho that’s super rocky soil. We are building it up but it’s a process. Also very difficult to have livestock on the side of a mountain we live on. Soooooo to negate this problem we created a “ North Idaho Freedom Exchange” so we could connect with members of our community that produce the stuff our property cannot. Our first meeting we had over 70 people show up!!!! We traded our kimchi for bunnies and some beef tallow for moose meat! It was awesome. Next meetup is this weekend. Hoping for another good showing. Keeping it engaging by adding in a “Kids Korner” and also creating “committees” to get people within the community involved so it can keep the momentum going. Trying to walk the walk so to speak!
