Am I the only person out here, who just a decade ago was all into pro sports and now it makes me sick to my stomach when I hear normies talking about sports like they actually matter? #asknostr

Exactly the same. I waste time on things still, but not that.

πŸ’― facts my brother!

I gave up on the bread and circuses around the same time.πŸ€™

Yeah I can’t imagine my life revolving around a professional sports team in this day and age lol!

Same, sheep be sheepin!

The bread and circus exactly! Do you see a version of this in other things?

Bread and circus everywhere.

All distractions, smoke and mirrors.

β€œThat’s crazy. Catch the game last night?”

Lol, bro I get so sick hearing people say that shit!

Sad that the "that" part in your sentence is some important info you're trying to get across. Feels defeating.

Used to all into f1, not so much now.

Yeah I’ve tried a few times to watch a game, and every time I feel like I’m wasting brain cells lol.

πŸ«‘πŸ™Œ, we’ve discovered the best money ever, why the hell would I waste time watching people run around a field and falling over claiming they’re dying?

Kinda. My love affair with sports (mostly MLB) ended with the lockout in 1994. If that didn't make it obvious that the fans are just cows to be milked, nothing will. After being away from sports for 30 years, I see that it's even worse than I thought back then.

The pause is like a moment of realization what the addiction was doing. Similar moments are when strikes happen in other areas. Remember the writer's strike? Shows were terrible or not being made, causing an exodus of watchers.

Raw expressions of pure tribalism, cut with nothing, not even watered down

Except once every 2 years or so when an athlete does something legitimately cool or unexpected and everyone is interested
