🤔 It would definitively doxx the city where I live in, but I'm debating making an NPub for my fledgling web development company so it can be reachable on nostr.

Do it! I would love to try to work for myself. Haven't had the balls yet.

So if you do, you should.

I'm technically transitioning for a polite way of phrasing it. I still have a part time day job, but I'm trying to focus on this more and more, and I am actively advertising in my local area.

You could create an LLC in wyoming (I'm assuming you're US) I think they are anon.

I could. I also have an llc in the state that I live.

I didn't know if you had or how much staying anon is important for you.

there's no need to link this npub to that npub per say; but using it will allow to use your current sphere of influence to help your business. there are tradeoffs

That's basically the trade-off that I was thinking. I have talked enough about starting a web development company (or at least doing webbstuff on the side) that if one all of a sudden popped up on nostr, it wouldn't be terribly hard to link the two together.

When I initially registered the company I was thinking about targeting locally but I feel like that was very stupid of me and so now the name of the city that I live in is part of the name of the business.
