So far, I only ate some pork skin.
When I'm emotional and distressed, I tend to not eat, drink or sleep but only sit there and obsess over it and freeze and plotting my flight.
Constantly having the reminder that your mother doesn't give a shit about you will surely do that.
I had to fucking sit down and help her plan out her whole life the other night when she didn't even ask a simple "how was your day?!?!"

Breaking the negative thinking cycle is hard. Especially, when you know you are right and being upset is justified.
Being right doesn't make anything better for yourself, though.
