yeah 👍 use what you have right?

we have no electricity running to the property so have to do things differently.

it did occur to me at some point a while ago, “you could just run a washing machine on a generator from time to time.”

i get so purist when i go into something i can miss obvious things until i relax

Mate that's a proper pioneering lifestyle. Good for you getting that gritty with it.

If you allowed yourself to use the genny for the washing you could use that time for other skill development, like carving or some other creative pursuit.

well i was honestly going to run power. but running power is placed behind alot of unnecessary funding of a bureaucracy. so we went for it. more necessity than anything.

but now that i know how to do it, youd be hard pressed to get me to go the standard route.

Good for you opt out! 💪🏼

We just run the wash on sunny days... we have a 1600w (4p2s) system that produces enough to charge the batteries while running everything, minus AC.

Getting our dryer to run on a propane cylinder? Now that's a different story. 😂

It works out though because the laundry dries pretty quickly on the clothesline on those aforementioned sunny days..

love this!

i had plans to build a rotating 55 gallon drum drier using an off the shelf propane heater, but why over-engineer when you can just hang your clothes on a line by the fireplace 🤷

Exactly! I spent countless hours trying to get that freakin dryer working because, ya know, I want as much convenience as possible for my lady, so I was overjoyed when she said she really doesn't mind just hanging it on a line. 😅
