It would be awesome if we could not make the same mistake over and over again and develope nostr with normies in mind from the start. It already goes down a path no one wants to follow if not fanatic fan of decentralization or bitcoin.

Means: stop using words like relay, node, pubkey, privkey or verify with *insert cryptic coder stuff here* and find ways a normal internet user can at least use (they wont understand it anyways. No one understands email, money or internet and no one cares how they work).

I can not even manage to explain to most people why decentralization is important. They understand the basic problem but see no need for a solution in their lifes at all. Most have good experiences with centralized services. Because the UX is nice and simple.

Imo we need more simple UX in and around bitcoin and nostr. This right now is a UX desaster and the perfect path into ‚linux is the OS of the future… for already 40 years‘.

email and internet weren’t a natural thing when they developed

nostr will actually improve Bitcoin (as well as PGP) adoption with public/private key education and onboarding

More online key management solutions will be developed, completely offline storage usage will still be small, a popularity in hybrid solutions will likely emerge.

I hope you are right but I don‘t think so. AOL made the internet usable by limiting it all to a start button and browser app… Email has been made mainstream by very few service-provider who did not teach ppl about mail-server or ip-addresses. They did the opposite: the limited the touchpoints to simple, logic and easily usable things like buttons with ‚send‘ or ‚start’ on it and other stuff people knew to use long before. PGP keys will (imo) never ever be understood and used by normal people (there is nothing in the real world history of normal people where the principle is used in normal day to day activities). Even most tech-people do not check hashes of downloaded software today as they still do not understand how. And these are usually described step by step most of the time.
