I hope you are right but I don‘t think so. AOL made the internet usable by limiting it all to a start button and browser app… Email has been made mainstream by very few service-provider who did not teach ppl about mail-server or ip-addresses. They did the opposite: the limited the touchpoints to simple, logic and easily usable things like buttons with ‚send‘ or ‚start’ on it and other stuff people knew to use long before. PGP keys will (imo) never ever be understood and used by normal people (there is nothing in the real world history of normal people where the principle is used in normal day to day activities). Even most tech-people do not check hashes of downloaded software today as they still do not understand how. And these are usually described step by step most of the time.
