Wait until people find out Spotify can do what they want with your podcast.

Not an endorsement, but part of this language is to allow the app to *transmit* and *display* your content on other people's screens without violating your copyright. It's a dumb technicality for dumb copyright laws that opens up for abuse when it is written too liberally. Every internet service EULA has this.

It's displaying people's copyrighted content on other people's devices. That's the main reason the language is "legally" necessary. Once again, it's dumb, but that's how it works.

Do EULA's even work anymore? I saw lots of examples of companies clearly being evil and saying "but you agreed to our rules!" and the courts would still rule in the users favor because they know no one reads them.

I don't think the default relays and imagine hosting services in the nostr clients have any kind of EULA

We have to have a minimum TOS to protect us from legal situations..
