In the Animatrix, there is a short story called the Program.
In it, a woman is trapped in a training program by her crewmate. She desperately calls the operator for an exit but is blocked. She cannot exit herself, which made the stakes real.

I think a lot about that Animatrix short about the Olympian busting out of the Matrix by running too fast, and how there are all these different ways to break the Matrix.
The Animatrix is amazing. My favorite is the one about the skater kid.
