"Running" Bitcoin Core on a computer simply isn't enough.

You must use it to:

1. Verify incoming payments and wallet balances

2. Broadcast transactions.

In other words, you need to connect your wallet to your own Bitcoin node.

Sparrow Wallet makes this easier.

You can also send a transaction not using your node, but verify the outcome on your node.

Not ideal compared to full usage, but it's better than most make it out to be.
