Yes but it's caravans and tiny homes.

Because you need council approval to build fixed houses here.

I wish I lived in west Virginia or China so that I could actually own the land, but you can not technically own the land here, just like most of USA and most countries around the world.

The moment you stop paying property taxes the police come to remove you and the government sells your land to a bank below market value to cover unpaid property taxes

Been trying to find a way out of this problem ourselves.

Also for those of us who own our homes, there's an explicit clause in several deeds that says "you have no property rights".

If you oppose it at the Notary's office (like I did), they tell you it's just standard, everyone signs it, themselves and their own personal houses included.

So then, you cave in and sign. And back to square one.
