While not to this degree, my inlaw family in Egypt lived like this for a while and we are trying to keep the trend alive.

One side of the family built an apartment building, with a different unit for each family, and a garden on the roof. The other side lived in separate apartments, but they get together 5x to 10x per year.

Almost impossible to do in the US unfortunately

yeah, this is a LARP. The closest thing you can actually get to this are new #urbanism projects like CulDeSac in Tempe....

But you're gonna see a rainbow flag or two, which I'm sure is enough for these people to "nope" out and go back to suburbia.

Most people in the world live like this, but in urban settings, where they actually have access to markets, culture, jobs, etc.

These pictures, on the other hand, give me major "cult compound" vibes. Not pictured are the cars and trucks they need to drive ~20 miles each way to actually buy food, go to the doctor, etc...

they don't need cars, they grow their own food and don't need doctors /s

yep no SCAMdemic there, just good ole' natural Measles like Yahweh intended 😆

Dude, you read my mind on the cult vibe 🙀

well good luck trying to live like this...

Based.

Home based.

Maybe this explains why @Lyn Alden seems so unusually grounded.

I see this in a lot of big Catholic families I know and it's real.

Take note, parents.

That's a molestation reservation right there.

Yes but it's caravans and tiny homes.

Because you need council approval to build fixed houses here.

I wish I lived in west Virginia or China so that I could actually own the land, but you can not technically own the land here, just like most of USA and most countries around the world.

The moment you stop paying property taxes the police come to remove you and the government sells your land to a bank below market value to cover unpaid property taxes

Been trying to find a way out of this problem ourselves.

Also for those of us who own our homes, there's an explicit clause in several deeds that says "you have no property rights".

If you oppose it at the Notary's office (like I did), they tell you it's just standard, everyone signs it, themselves and their own personal houses included.

So then, you cave in and sign. And back to square one.

Please calculate time to apartment collapse due to overpopulation.

Resort Hacking. 🫡

Buy/finance a mini resort and set up a Bitcoin treasury policy for the business.

The idea: Instead of house hacking and renting out a basement suite, buy a small resort. Live in one unit, rent the others, and let the business cover your lifestyle.

Host annual family/friends events and local/citadel pill your tribe.
