Anyone have movie/show recommendations or even watch lists/viewing order?

Recently been introducing my Nieces/Nephew to the Tuttle Twins and its such good/wholesome content delivered in an engaging way (where 5-11 year olds are full attention watching it. (Me being fully bought in helps too)

TVO (in Canada) used to have a Saturday Night at the movies that would often be a double feature (where the movies were connected by director/actors/theme/style etc) and there would be discussions between/after the movie which made my appreciation for the movies 10x what it other wise would have been.

One example that stands out was Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. Exploring the disruptive storytelling/meta narrative etc. Anyways the TLDR is it made for an amazing experience.

Would be super cool to see similar playlists/discussions from Bitcoiners on a variety of books/movies/shows around themes like - freedom/independent thinking/responsibility

Agree. Nothing wrong with a slow burn, but they've taken it so slow its in danger of being fully extinguished.

Hopefully they hit the ground running next season.

What happens when Bitcoin becomes the thing to believe in, but no one can agree what it means?

I go through phases. For a year or two, I'll read only non-fiction, and then switch for a year or two to almost only fiction. Bank and forth like a pendulum. Currently still deep in a fiction binge.

This year was a lot of fiction. Most of James Clavell's books, Project Hail Mary, Lions of Al-Rassan, Europe Central...

What have you done for Bitcoin this year?

I’m often frustrated because I feel like I want to find a way to contribute to Bitcoin, the Bitcoin community, and spreading the good word to all the plebs. But I haven’t figured out exactly how to do this in a meaningful way yet. I’m still looking for how I can use my time and skill to contribute in a unique way in this space.

But today I realized I’ve actually done something this year. A small thing, but more than nothing.

I have a YouTube channel where I review nonfiction books for people committed to lifelong learning. This year I have reviewed and recommended several books that could open people’s eyes to Bitcoin (directly and indirectly)

- The Bitcoin Standard

- The Mandibles (thanks nostr:nprofile1qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgl426zu for the recommendation!!)

- The Big Print

- The Price of tomorrow

- Everything divided by 21 million

I don’t have a huge audience but these videos have been viewed by at least 10-15k people. And a lot of these people, I assume, are not bitcoiners (they come to me for other reasons).

Maybe a person or two has taken steps towards understanding bitcoin thanks to one of my videos? If so, I’m pretty happy with my contribution!

I would love to hear how you have spent time promoting the Bitcoin way in 2025.

What have you done for Bitcoin this year? I would love to hear, both big and small.

Culture and helping precoiners find their way to Bitcoin is important!

🫡well done!

Similarly we're attempting to contribute/nudge the culture.

Through storytelling with Mysteries of the Bitcoin Citadel. https://fountain.fm/show/RdBny3x8kiOcHY4GwEgD

As well as exploring intentional communities and the concept of Citadels.

Why Make Free Bitcoin Art:

Even If It Costs You

The only thing rarer than Bitcoin is the people who understand it.

Dan and I made Mysteries of the Bitcoin Citadel.

One year. Two seasons. Thousands of hours.

He designed the sound. I wrote the story.

It’s free. No ads. No paywall.

The Bet: We didn’t make it for everyone.

We made it for Bitcoiners and the ones walking in their direction.

Bitcoiners’ attention is underpriced.

Their trust even more so.

The people who have it now are the ones directing and building the future.

Energy. Governance. Community.

If you can reach them, you’re upstream of everything that comes next.

Bitcoin will outperform almost everything.

Bitcoin friendships will outperform Bitcoin.

The show is a flare. A signal in the dark.

If you get it, you get it.

And if you don’t, that’s fine.

Good things take time.

The best things take commitment.

Low time preference things.

That’s why you make free Bitcoin art; even when it costs you.

The minds you seek on Nostr aren’t valuable because they’re search engines. They’re valuable because they’ve lived something you haven’t.

Think about it: when someone shares hard won knowledge here, you’re not just getting information. You’re getting the scar tissue. The late nights. The failures that taught them what the textbooks couldn’t. You’re getting wisdom that was expensive to acquire, offered freely because they remember what it was like not to know.

Their expertise isn’t some polished, sanitized output. It’s inseparable from their specific journey, their unique vantage point, their particular blind spots. And yes, even their biases and limitations. That’s not a bug. That’s what makes it real. That’s what makes it useful in ways a perfect answer never could be.

Because here’s the thing: you don’t just need correct information. You need to understand how someone got there. You need the context, the nuance, the “yeah, but watch out for this one thing that nobody tells you.” You need their beautiful human incompleteness, because that’s where the actual learning lives.

An AI tool can give you answers instantly. But it can’t tell you what it felt like to be wrong for two years before figuring it out. It can’t say “I thought that too, until…” It can’t share the wisdom that only comes from being human, from struggling, from changing your mind.

Use the AI when it serves you. Let it handle the obvious stuff, the quick lookups, the pattern matching, the coding etc. But when you’re here for the real thing? When you’re trying to actually understand something that matters?

Seek the humans. Ask the questions. Build the relationships.

Because wisdom has always been relational. It’s not transmitted. It’s shared. And that makes all the difference.

Interesting... Lots to think about, appreciate it.

Wouldn't mind exploring this further - I definitely believe there's value in both - Because here’s the thing: you don’t just need correct information. You need to understand how someone got there. You need the context, the nuance, the “yeah, but watch out for this one thing that nobody tells you.” You need their beautiful human incompleteness, because that’s where the actual learning lives.

My fear would be the person's context, without accurate/correct information - is like asking them 'their truth' - there's still value in understanding how they interpret things but also having reality/correct info to compare it against contextualizes things further.
