This is one of the reasons I'm going to bail on Proton and self host email, calendar, and contacts. They won't lift a finger to bring basic 2010-era functionality to their dated apps. Meanwhile, they spend their time developing Bitcoin wallets and AI gimmickry that no one even wants. One of their recent promo emails said something along the lines of, "AI functionality is here, whether we want it or not!" That's the moment when I finally gave up on Proton.
Seems they're more obsessed with mimicking Google, now focusing on to the "Office" suite of apps. Contacts really is a glaring omission.
And the quantitative approach of using feedback to drive their roadmap has created 3 contact-related requests in their top row 7, all of which were created 3+ years ago. They offered Proton Contacts inside of Proton Mail and called it a day.
