Relay updates:

1) When viewing someone's profile, events are requested from a random selection of 3 of your own relays + 3 of the other user's write relays. Previously it was asking only your own relays, and all of them every time.

2) When publishing an event, it is also sent to mentioned users' read relays (if less than 10 users are mentioned).

3) You can see a list of popular relays in settings / network.

I think we need inline note images in Iris

Yup the above post looks a lot better in Amethyst.

I also strongly prefer unpositioned images to be below, not above the text, and tiles instead of top-to-bottom in sequence when you have multiple.

there is some relay in public relay list already in my relay list, and it still can be added ,and there is two same relay in my relay list ,but just one can be link

Here's more about the latest update:

#[2]

I understand these changes are necessary to improve reachability but it also expands the number of parties that learn 1) exactly who is reading 2) and when they are reading it and 3) giving up their location while doing so.

I just hope more Nostr users learn they really must use a VPN.

I wonder if I could use Tor in the desktop application https://tpo.pages.torproject.net/core/doc/rust/arti_client/index.html

I tried Iris via Tor exit nodes. It is very slow and unreliable. I switched to VPN and Iris is a lot better now.

I have used Iris + Tor Browser over VPN from day 1. It was indeed laggy at times (maybe because I have 40+ relays), however recently it became much better. Need to try the same set up with a small number of aggregator relays.

oooo very cool! Is this essentially the Iris implementation of Gossip?

Basically yes. It only looks at kind 3 events though — Iris was already saving them from everyone.

There's a lot of talk about your post.
