I hope not. The value proposition is permissionless and decentralized.
Also, outside of the semicolon brigade, I never saw this much spam

Maybe I’m missing what that means then. What’s fee based filtering then?

Okay. So that is what I thought it was. But how would that be decentralized? Where would the fee go? Who gets the sats when that happens? And would everyone in the chat have to pay the fee? Or would the channel creator only need to pay and then invite others?
Great questions. I don’t know. I’m sure there are various models which could work. Bitcoin is fee based and remains decentralized and permission-less. Bitchat will need a way to filter spam, simple as that.
