I urge FOSS maintainers and entities giving grants to do better due diligence when onboarding brand new devs and giving grants. People are faking GitHub activity, portfolios, and entire projects. It's still easy to spot if you take the time instead of just throwing money.

FOSS is easier target than a company, because in a desperation to have contributors, barriers of entry are lower, but it has long-term consequences to the project, so be aware!

that's why I never give anyone grants. I always make everyone work if they want my money. Giving money always seems to attract scammers.

I don't see the point of giving money to anyone unless they work for it. There is billions of people desperate for money that they are willing to fake everything. They can't fool me.

A grant means people are paid for work, so your post doesn't make sense to me

hmm.. ok.. well in that case, just sounds like the company is bad at hiring developers. That happened to me once. I hired a bad software developer so I had to fire him
