I told my 80 year old mom to not bother sorting recycling and trash, because she wasn’t correctly determining what was recyclable. So she started putting everything in the recycling, including all the trash…. That wasn’t my intention. Oops.
A quarter of recycle-destined stuff is not recyclable even if they ask you to sort them.
