Serious question

Those "pro-#Bitcoin" politicians campaigning at the moment, where were they for the last 5 years? Who orange pilled them (like, two weeks ago)? Jus saying...

Seems like it took COVID to wake up RFK Jr and DeSantis

RFK Jr specifically said it was the Canadian trucker’s protest, and the freezing of their bank accounts, that woke him up to Bitcoin.

DeSantis seems to have woken up due to federal COVID mandates that he initially supported, but then resisted as COVID went on, in Florida

It's seems a little grifty, but net on net, it should be positive that Bitcoin is on the agenda imo. In particular when there are also democrat candidates supporting Bitcoin

Neither is supporting Bitcoin or they could have been vocal about it for the last 4-5 years already.

A pro Bitcoin politician is likely a piece of shit.

An anti Bitcoin politician is *definitely* a piece of shit.

and both are hypocrites with no- to little morals and very little ethics.

I see you looked up politician in the dictionary. :)

There are numerous organizations that research and create messaging for candidates to speak to voting blocks about the issues they care about. This is often paid for by money raised by PACS and completely separated from the candidate. I think the more interesting thing is that a group a people controlling a sizable political war chest have determined that Bitcoiners are an important voting block. No matter what you think of RFK, his speech hit all the marks for proper messaging. Someone helped him do that. The question is who and why?

It’s a thing

I totally agree with you on the sentiment that the only thing that really matters in this case is that they feel the need to lobby to the Bitcoin crowd. Speaks volumes.

However, anyone who thinks that there is a "pro-Bitcoin" candidate out there, in most countries, should reconsider. There isn't. They're all members of the came club and none of us is a member.

Speaking as American, I agree the federal level is likely lost. However, at the state level there is hope. I live in Missouri which is considering legislation that is pro #Bitcoin and mining. Arkansas our neighbor has already done this. States rights and #Bitcoin is the only thing that gives me hope the current system has any chance at all.

As non-American I can't go very deep into the US politics since there is many aspects I simply don't know or don't understand.

Plus, I've travelled for more than half my life and I've come to a point where I don't have no allegiance to any country. I lived in so many and if we zoom out we realise that all our problems are basically happening on a global scale. So I stopped focusing on national issues. No matter if Spain (where I live) or Germany or elsewhere.

We're being fucked all around by the same people.

💯The Sovereign Individual book’s thesis playing out in real time. A crazy time to be alive.

It is indeed. Sometimes I feel like I can't keep up but it's so exciting!
