As you mention

Kindly provide long form addendum formatting here:

Nice explanation thank you.

If i have understood you : "Higher thresholds are more exclusive, which means they reduce spam but increase the risk of filtering out honest users.".

Would it be possible to add a trial period were user are filter also with the number of "mute/block/signal as spam value". It will allow new user to prove they are here and not spammers.

I know it is not a simple problem to filter spam without excluding new users to respect the free speech here.

And if #nostr wants to grow, it will have to found the good solution.

Another concern would be about the "news" bots, that could be considered as spam by users (when they are new and hadn't a higher rank yet).

It is a kind of trust network that have to born too.

Thank you for your work on this. It is not as sexy as client UX, but it is a very important point to work on too.

Thank you! Yes, mutes and other kinds are going to be integrate in the future for sure.

I don't think there is some kind of signal new users can have that can't be abused by bots. As for Pagerank, new users are indistinguishable from spammers.

However, other tools can be used there, like invitation to curated communities. If you are new but one of your friend invited you into a reputable community, then we can use this signal to determine you're likely not a spammer.
