nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm you mentioned a few weeks ago that the getalby extension requires no alby account and no email to use nostr features. However, when I am trying it I only see these two options when I start the extension the first time. One is alby email login, the other is to add a node.

I'm guessing if I added a node then I'd be able to use nostr features. It'd be nice if I could *just use the signing extension for nostr.

2nd button let's you connect to your node. For example, since I use CLN I configure it to connect to ln-ws-proxy running on my node, which facilitates the extension talking to CLN.

Right, but I don't want to connect to a node in this browser, I just want to sign nostr events.

That's a good point!

Our extension was initially an interface to wallets - we've added Nostr features few months ago.

As for now, to use only nostr signing, you can either start easily your LNbits instance or... use temporary e-mail to sign up for the account

yes, you can use any other wallet, no Alby account is required... but some lightning wallet is required at this point.

We had this topic already several times and are discussing this.

but a wallet in combination with they nostr key is just a perfect match.

I know it's beneficial for alby and lightning to push users to signup for alby with email. I just think it's not as frictionless as I would like when my goal is just to enable someone to use nostr in their browser. They may be a new user or an existing one, and they may just need to use a micro app that has nothing to do with lightning. Anyway, just my two cents, appreciate the work you're doing.
