To each their own, I would prefer to use Cashu for privacy and efficiency purposes rather than changing the code and introducing a potentially buggy softfork.

I used to think the same thing till I learned what it was.. 
I was a fedimint contributor and now work on eHash (blinded signatures for mining shares).
It's a custodial shitcoin. But it's the best we have given the privacy and data useability tradeoffs.
The blinded signature talk by nostr:nprofile1qqsxwkuyle67y94tj378gw8w2xw2wa6nwmwlqhddlwnz0z7sztsaw2qprdmhxue69uhhwmm59ejx7amwd9ek7mn5dpjh2upwvdsj72y0mff is a better starting point, IMHO.
