Interesting, aside from open nature of the data, you could use the existing "social graph" on it. I guess this is already possible with incumbent social networks.
I've asked why to find out if imdb has problems which could be solved by a nostr-based verison. To find out if there is something so bad with imdb that people would gladly switch to have it improved.
My biggest issue with imdb was its recommendations. No matter what I liked or gave a higher rating to, it kept recommending me upcoming Marvel movies!
Even Netflix’s recommendation system works better than imdb. IMDb just promotes films it is paid to promote and doesn’t give a flying fuck about your taste.
