Debating if 16gb ram on server one is sufficient for the foreseeable future?

Only while it's syncing. Under normal operation, Mempool probably he biggest resource hog we have, so big in fact that we do not recommend running it all the time, only when you need it. Otherwise electrs and LND can use a lot. Go with 32GB RAM because it's not much more expensive but will be a noticable improvement.

wait you don’t recommend running the mempool all the time?

Not "the mempool".

Mempool, the service. Like mempool.spac. We do not recommend running it all the time becuase it eats up a ton of resources. It seems they have plans to make it more efficient for home servers in the future, but right now it's a beast.

Just turn it on when you need it, then turn it back off, no big deal.

thanks for the tip
