In winter they were kept inside, houses were often just two rooms, house and barn. Not a problem during summer.

There is lots of steric acid in wild pigs. Farmed pigs are just often fed seed oils and unlike cows pigs can't convert omega 6 to steric acid. So farmed pigs meat might be 20% shit fat. Still better than 80% shit fat that is seed oils.
