On a relative scale the USA isn't too, too bad. Life could be worse. I could be living in the Gaza strip or something.

This isn’t a comparison concept though. Of course it could be worse. Same as there is mild, treatable cancer, and then aggressive, stage 4 bone marrow cancer. But I’m just asking that we stop pretending that feeding the cancer, regardless of how mild, is somehow an act of moral righteousness and that if it weren’t for the stupid liver and we could charge it a 40% tax to feed the cancer more, THEN all our problems would be solved. The liver needs to pay its “fair share.”
The higher up you are to the money spigot the less taxes seem to bother you because you are part of the machination extraction team.

Yes, we in the US have a great way of life and we kindle all kinds of nonsense to go on elsewhere in order to perpetuate misery so that we can continue to relish in our achievements of greatness.
