I visited for a month in 2020 just before the military coup. The people are some of the most friendly and humble I met in Asia despite the incredible levels of poverty that hangs over them. Geographically, it is insanely diverse. The Mergui Archipelago in the south is home to thousands of islands with the clearest water and white sand beaches you can imagine- better than Thailand imo.

It is a truly phenomenal nation. You should 100% try to give it a visit after the government cleans up.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I've been up that coast pre tsunami. Never got into Myanmar tho. Might be an option. I'm in the region now and could def chill on the coast there. Do you know of there are any border crossings from bkk? I'll look it up but def if you have any tips would be interested.

Yea there are two different bus crossings into the country from Thailand that I know of. Have a look at local bus companies. I met a few people who came from BKK that way. Things might have settled down militarily by now.
