Of course it is a deeper problem!
But that design will probably prevent at least one opportunistic stabbing over its time, so it helps in a small way
Ever heard of sliced throat? No, this won't help at all, wishful thinking is very deceiving. Who wants to stab, will get a thing to do it. This is just stupid marketing.

It always interests me how the utility analogy only extends to small weapons.
No one says C4 doesn't cause explosions.
No one says tanks don't kill people.
No one says HGV missiles don't kill people.
We fully accept the restrictions on their use. What we really do is draw a line where it suits us. That's fine but let's be honest about it.
