What's the technical reason for Damus (any other clients/mobile OS do this too?) to DESTROY my phone's battery and make it quite literally burn to the point I can't hold it in my hand, in a matter of a couple of minutes?

I heard to many cause the phone to work harder trying to send the info through alot of them

You might loose some info that way. Check your followers and people you follow. Also on iris goto settings and set the relays public so it pushes them to other clients and the info matches
