What's the technical reason for Damus (any other clients/mobile OS do this too?) to DESTROY my phone's battery and make it quite literally burn to the point I can't hold it in my hand, in a matter of a couple of minutes?

Its usually when you have alot of relays
I imagined that much, but why?
I heard to many cause the phone to work harder trying to send the info through alot of them
