When I go back and edit some text then try to write more at the end of my post it doesn't seem to realize I have moved the cursor and starts inserting what I type at the previous edit location. It seems to get triggered if I select a word and/or use paste.

Also when I use backspace it deletes the space preceding the word before the cursor, which forces me to try to place the cursor at the right place to put the space back in which is dfficult on a touch screen.

I find myself using select all, copy, cancel note, start a new note, paste, continue writing. Sometimes like 5 times before I give up and do it on a web client instead.

EXACTLY THIS. I thought this might be a Graphene thing since I only have Amethyst in my device. 🤔

Super common bug. This is between the Keyboard you are using on graphene and Google's Jetpack Compose UI framework. TLDR, the open-source keyboard used by default on Graphene is way too old. If you change the keyboard (lots of options out there), the problem is solved.

🙏

Any recommendations? Ideally privacy preserving.

AnySoft works, but I have no idea how private it is.

I don't think it's a graphene thing. My old motorola android had the same behavior.

Perhaps it's the keyboard software. I think I used openboard on that phone. Not sure what graphene uses...it's just called keyboard in the settings.
