The url has changed since I last looked them up a couple of years ago. Used to be freeprivatecities.com which now re-directs to the above. It's a shame if they dropped the private in the marketing, since that was what appealed to me when I heard about them in the first place.

Doesn't seem like they're making much progress. We'll see what happens.

It's been a while since I read it. But I think it describes the idea of Free Cities quite well. I found it very worth reading.

True. The mere concept of this is progress in itself.

It would be interesting to see a free, private city incorporate the nostr protocol for administration purposes.

Theoretically, that could work. Nostr already has clients for retail, news, and obviously other communication-related purposes. 🧐

Yup. It's also based on keys, and keys would be issued at a start of a contract.
