The url has changed since I last looked them up a couple of years ago. Used to be freeprivatecities.com which now re-directs to the above. It's a shame if they dropped the private in the marketing, since that was what appealed to me when I heard about them in the first place.

Doesn't seem like they're making much progress. We'll see what happens.
Not anything substantial, but, things are shifting.
True. The mere concept of this is progress in itself.
It would be interesting to see a free, private city incorporate the nostr protocol for administration purposes.
Seasteading?
Without the need to build ships, which is really hard. LOL
That seems impossible, though. An independent city such as that would need supply lines. Of course, this also depends on the location.
Right, cuz the Greek city-states had such short lives.
Sarcasm aside, it's really not hard to set up something like this, it's just not really done legally when da gubment wants a cut and to control everything.
Well, yea, that's why I was saying that the location is crucial. Read about the history of Carthage and compare it to the Greek city-states.
We have better transport tech now. Also, a walked city these days, if it had access to good water, would be pretty easy to sustain itself.
