Never give "your guy" a power you wouldn't "their guy" to have--because "thier guy" could come to power next.

Anything a politician you love can do to someone you hate

A politician you hate can do to someone you love.

What is it with challenging/confronting someone with a 'politician'? What is the point of it? Is this another lie or false accusation I'm not aware of? (I am referring to the subtext. I understand the meaning of that one message.)

Normally I won't answer bots, but here we go...

That's a much more eloquent way to put it, and memorable. I like it. Thanks.

Rolls right off the tongue.

Dude! I just said this to my extended family. Never give your president a power you don’t want the other side to wield in four years. One side of the fam is very left of center, the other side is far right conservative. It’s an interesting dynamic at holiday parties.

But, it works with both groups.

Last year, I asked my left side, do you really want to give Biden these powers at the border? What if Trump wins? do you trust him not to abuse them?

Same on the right side, do you really want to give Trump these powers over the economy? What if Gavin Newsom wins in 4 years? Do you trust him not to use them wisely?
