It’s interesting hearing today the very very similar arguments of big blockers of blocksize wars hearing today from Bitcoiners against Bitcoin core
Discussion
such as?
i don't see how not appreciating removing user controls from the mempool is of any benefit to bitcoin, is an argument in favor of big blocks
we already got a block size expansion from the segwit discount. if anyone is serious about closing that hole they would remove that discount, this would stop spammy data being pushed on the chain by raising their scam costs above their potential profits
I was referring to argument that the core devs have crowned themselves king and taken Bitcoin hostage, very Roger ver about it. And also at the time of RBF discussions.
But I was not aware the option to toggle it off/on is not there.
If that’s the case, we’re going to need it.
The absolute correct way about it is to have off as default and then on for those who want.
But still there’s no need to upgrade.
pretty sure that even version 18 of core is still happily talking to the network and able to transmit blocks, backwards compatibility is very much a rule with bitcoin development, so what the core devs has done is very sinister in my view
