The situation in Syria was predictable. The Syrian army doesn’t want to fight, and Assad’s government is waiting for others to do the job for them. Neither Russia nor Iran seems genuinely interested in seriously investing in this game. American military forces are also just stealing Syrian oil and have no desire to get involved.

It seems that Syria is finally coming to an end. It’s a pity, of course — it was a good country. Once, they made good soap.

What's happening? Have I been missing something?

Syrian forces are abandoning their positions against some militants, seemingly supported by Turkey. The Assad family has fled to Russia, and all diplomats are leaving. Assad himself is reportedly still in Syria, but it's likely that he is also packing his bags.

This is your summary of the news or do you have personal insight there.

Are you from the moon or something? The press has been writing about it all day, even Trump commented on it 🤣
