Known as "Lady Death," Lyudmila Pavlichenko became one of the most famous and heroic Soviet women ever when she defied gender expectations by serving as a sniper on the front line during The Great Patriotic War against fascism. She is credited with killing 309 fascists as she became one of the most famous snipers in history. As Pavlichenko said, "If you don't kill them at once, we'll have no end of trouble."
